About
Lisa Lindén is Associate Professor in Gender and Technology at the Division of Science, Technology and Society, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. Her work is situated to Science and Technology Studies (STS), feminist theory and medical sociology. Her research areas include patient and health activism, daily care practices, as well as new (bio)medical technologies. She has, in particular, published work on gynaecological cancer patient activism, HPV vaccines and cervical cancer screening. She is currently the PI for the research project Implementing HPV vaccination for all children in Sweden: Gender equality and sexual health among young people and is part of the research project The many meanings of perineal injuries: care-seekers’ and care-providers’ perspectives on second-degree perineal injuries, their implications, and potential to improve care (PI Lisa Guntram). She has published in journals such as Science, Technology & Human Values, Sociology of Health & Illness and Qualitative Research. Together with Emily Jay Nicholls, she is the co-editor for the upcoming edited volume Health Activism and Sexual Politics: Feminist Engagements with Health, Illness and the Body (Routledge 2023).
